Bag&Baggage’s 2018-2019 Season Offers A World Of Provocative Theatre!
Bag&Baggage Productions, Hillsboro’s resident professional theatre, is proud to announce a five show line-up for their 18-19 Season at The Vault Theater in downtown Hillsboro. The season features two world premiere adaptations of Shakespeare’s work, a Pacific Northwest Premiere adaptation of one of the most popular works of literature ever written, one of the United States’ most successful murder mysteries, and a production of the play that inspired the television smash Bewitched!
“The 18-19 Season is filled with thrills, romance, magic, suspense, laughter, and so much more,” said Scott Palmer, Bag&Baggage’s Founding Artistic Director. “Our second season in The Vault includes some of the most technologically challenging shows we have ever produced; we will have to create a forest steeped in romance, a New York brownstone in winter filled with witchcraft and love potions, an English Manor drenched in murder and betrayal, a play that travels instantly between Havana and Miami, and all the starlight and wonder of Neverland – all in one season.”
The 18-19 Season features five full scale performances at The Vault Theater, with three of the shows directed by Palmer and two directed by Associate Artistic Director Cassie Greer. Included in the line-up is the first production in B&B’s nationally acclaimed Problem Play Project, featuring a world-premiere adaptation of one of Shakespeare’s most challenging works by an Oregon-based playwright of color. Alongside the five scheduled shows, B&B will also present: the second year of their SOLO FEST, a festival of solo performers; the return of their hugely successful Oscar-viewing party Hillsboro Goes Hollywood; an expansion their Burns Night Supper, a traditional celebration of the National Poet of Scotland, Robert Burns; and co-productions with regional artists such as Tony Starlight, Fake Radio, Third Angle New Music, and The Portland Ballet.
